Home. That one word has an impact beyond the four letters that shape it. Home can be sanctuary, freedom, love, family, past, present, gratitude, hard work, safety – unique to each person. It is your community, your land, your neighbors, your schools. When I work with buyers or sellers I am aware of all these factors and incorporate them into my service with commitment, loyalty and enthusiasm.

 My background includes a variety of community based organizations in roles focused around marketing and engagement. I’m qualified in a mastery of sales techniques from door to door and social media campaigns, to telephone fundraising, and professional negotiation.

 Since my first year in real estate I have outperformed some of the most experienced real estate agents in our region. I attribute this to being part of an incredible four person team that can accomplish goals and serve in a way no single agent can. And to our/my own commitment to utilizing the most modern technology to market, negotiate, and build a database of responsive buyers and sellers. My name is Bob Scanlon and I am a life long resident of the greater Oneonta area.

In my previous life, for 30 years, I was an owner of Sport Tech in downtown Oneonta.

* 2013    Joined Prudential Fox properties and closed just under 3 million dollars as a rookie. Top producer in the office

* 2014    Joined Keller Williams Upstate NY Properties and became the top producing agent in  the office closing 5 million dollars. Ranking # 5 in the entire MLS.

* 2015     Formed  The Scanlon Homes Team and became the first to integrate a Team approach to selling real estate  The "Team"closed 7.6 Million dollars.

*2016    Another great year!  The Scanlon Homes Team closed in excess of 8.3 million in real estate transactions

 *2017   Expanding "The Scanlon Homes Team"  closed 8.5 Million in real estate transactions.

I am a lifelong resident of the Oneonta community with over 30 years of sales and marketing expertise.  In 2016 I joined the Scanlon Homes Team and we sold nearly 9 million dollars in real estate in 2016.  You will be hard pressed to find more knowledge of this community then what our team brings to the table.  I,  having successfully owned a business where customer service was our forte, excel at listening and finding the solution to your individual real estate puzzle.  Follow up and persistence is our strength.  A short stint in the banking industry gives me unique insight into the world of mortgages and home equity loans.  I am a certified Pricing Strategy Advisor.

Previously, worked from sales floor to Sales Manager to General Manager of Volkswagen Oneonta.  Simultaneously, founder/owner/operator of MKW Enterprises and MKW Property Management. In total, MKW has grown to more than 15 rental properties either owned and/or managed for long term rentals, student rentals and short term rentals. I grew in both business ventures because I was willing to put my head down and get my work done in an honest, efficient and friendly manner.
 
The knowledge from both of these careers gives me a unique insight to the real estate market. My goal is to operate with a fact-based mindset, to provide you with clarity in any sales situation.
